Linda L. Trent,63, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at her Port Charlotte residence.
Linda was born on Leap Day, February 29, 1960, one of six children born to the late Buna “Jean” and James Loose, in Monterey, California, where her father was stationed at that time while serving in the U.S. military. While in her early teens, the Loose family moved to Southwest Florida’s Port Charlotte Community. Linda with her outgoing personality quickly made lifelong friends at her new Jr. High School and continued to make friends as she graduated High School and became active in the community. She met the love of her life, Russell Vernon Trent, Jr., and together they raised two children, a son, Russell V. Trent III, and daughter, Niiki Trent. Linda worked various jobs while caring for and raising a family and was involved with Little League activities as well as managing and coaching teams during her children’s formative years. Linda would do anything to help out a friend in need, as it was just part of who she was. She also took care of her husband Russell following a work accident that left him disabled and supported his desire to use his vast knowledge and expertise of Sports Cards and Sports Memorabilia to work for Herbs Coins and Sports Cards located in Port Charlotte. Together, they endured many hardships and struggles with strength and love for their family.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Loose, a sister Wanda Loose, and her beloved husband Russell Jr. to whom she was married for over 41 years. She is survived by her children, son Russell V. Trent III, and daughter Niiki Trent; four grandchildren, Derek, Russell, Riley, and Reece; a sister, Carol, two brothers, Gary and Jim; and a great many extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Linda will be held from 2-5 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Port Charlotte Beach Park complex in Port Charlotte, Florida. Anyone who wants to bring a side dish is welcome to.
