Linda was born September 27, 1949 in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late Donald and Rose Vanderwerken. She was a retired secretary and moved to Florida in 2005 with her husband Gerald from Chesapeake, Virginia. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte.
She is survived by her loving family; husband Gerald Powers of North Port; daughter, Carrie Morrisette of North Port; son, David Powers of Lehigh Acres, FL; sister, Donyl Yates of Punta Gorda, FL; and 3 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM followed by funeral services at 7:00 PM at Roberson Funeral Home Punta Gorda Chapel. Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to sign the memory book and extend condolences to the family. Arrangements by Roberson Funeral Home Punta Gorda Chapel.

Linda and I worked together at a travel agency in Chesapeake, VA. We laughed and shared stories every day making our friendship deeper by the minute. We cried together too and supported each other in every way, as best friends do. Les and I shared holidays with Linda, Gerry and Carrie and our families many times became one. The world has lost a wonderful, beautiful, thoughtful and compassionate woman. I love you Ms. Linda Loo. I couldn't of asked for a better sister in law. More like a sister to me. We had many good laughs and cries together. Many long conversations. Hours spent on the phone when I lived up in NJ.
