Mrs. Lorraine M. Conboy, 79, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.
She was born April 9, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Ovila and Mary Lambert. Lorraine, who grew up in Billerica, MA before settling in Jamaica Plain, purchased with her husband Frank a winter home in Port Charlotte’s Kings Gate gated community in 2002 where they wintered until taking up residency in 2007. A devoted wife and mother of five, she worked as a bookkeeper in real-estate and insurance until her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte, and an active member of the Red Hat Society, Kings Gate Chapter.
She is survived by her husband of more than 56 years, Francis [Frank] R. Conboy; children, Chester (Nancy) Conboy of Franklin, MA, Patricia Scully of North Berwick, ME, and Janice (Michael Fayle) Conboy of Barrington, NH; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, two brothers, three sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by two sons, Stephen and Michael Conboy, and a sister.
