Luis A. Ruiz, 58, of North Port, Florida passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Shorepoint Health-Port Charlotte.

Luis was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico; son of Monserrate and Luis Ruiz Sr. on August 11, 1964. Luis was a retired correction officer. He spent the later years of his life working at the YMCA. Luis married his beloved wife Carmen on April 6, 2012, who loved him with her whole heart, and he spent the rest of his life making her happy. Luis had a love for animals. He loved to chirp with the birds. His fish tank was his pride and joy. He had a love for hip hop and salsa music. He loved to workout. He loved desserts and when available he always had a toothpick in his mouth. His health took a Spiraling downhill after his heart attack. He fought a good fight until God decided to take him home. He was the type of person that gave his all to everything that he did. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his siblings Ada, Evelyn, Migdalia, Madeline and his brother-in-law’s, Marty Ernest and James who loved him very much. His daughters Desiree and Marisol, 3 granddaughters Laura, Isabella and Skya and his son-in-law Ricky loved him unconditionally. His sister-in-law Gladys, Elena, Sonia, Erica and Jessie loved being around him. He had many nieces and nephews as well who loved him.
