Madeline Gigante, it is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Madeline Gigante 91 of Sarasota Florida, who departed this life on December 31, 2024. She left this world peacefully.

Born on July 27, 1933, in Astoria, New York. Madeline was the beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandma and Great Grandma. From her earliest days, she brought love, joy, kindness, and a rare strength of spirit to those around her.

Madeline married her long-time sweetheart Vito (Poopsie) and built a life full of love and family along with their dog Dusty. They owned a card store in Punta Gorda, FL. She later spent most of her days working at Kmart. She enjoyed cruising, music, dancing, playing BINGO, playing cards, sewing, doing puzzles and word searches. She was a BIG WINNER of the slots while she cruised. She also enjoyed her trips to Vegas and Biloxi.

She is survived by her two daughters Theresa Rodriguez and Carolyn Schweit. Her five grandchildren Dawn (Matt) Mayfield, Jason Rodriguez, Chrissy, Lisa and Robert Schweit, and four Great Grandchildren Kaitlynn, Kaley, and Kelsey Mayfield and Alora Stone.  Madeline is preceded in death by her beloved husband Vito Gigante, Salvatore (Poppa), Filomena (Momma) Dilluvio and her brothers and sisters.

The family invites you to celebrate Madeline Gigante’s extraordinary life beginning 10:00am at San Pedro Catholic Church, 14380 Tamiami Trail in North Port on January 13, 2025, with burial to follow at Venice Memorial Gardens located at 1950 Center Rd in Venice, Florida.
