Margaret was born August 4, 1932 in Jamaica, New York to Harry and Margaret Cann. She was affectionally known by all her friends as Peggy. Peggy was a faithful member of St. James Episcopal Church in Port Charlotte. She was an avid cards and dominos player and various occasion a few games of bowling. She enjoyed the beautiful Florida beaches every moment she could. She loved to dance the night away. Peggy was a social butterfly as she loved being involved and leading activities whether it be organizing a dance, holiday events or just gathering friends for get togethers. She spent countless hours devoting her time to church functions whether it be cooking or cleaning for those unable to do so or numerous hours at hospice house helping the best she could with anything they needed. She was a huge holiday enthusiast and made sure that everyone she knew would have the best time ever. She touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to come in contact with her. Her boundless love and energy was felt by all which was a testimate to the love she had for life and those around her. She was a wonderful and loving human being and will be missed dearly by all who loved and knew her.
She is survived by her son, Richard (Sherry) Cassano of Fairfax, VT; 2 daughters, Kimberly (John) Cause of Southampton, NY and Bonnie Cassano of Punta Gorda, FL; 7 grandchildren, Shannon (George Ashley) Gallagher, Shilo (U.S. Army Specialist Dale) Newcomb, Kristina (Jamie Chauvin) Gallagher, Kaitlyn (Andrew Geppner) Cassano, Tyler La Force, Morgan La Force and Adriana Cassano and 4 great-grandchildren, Jaycee Newcomb, Wyatt Newcomb, Tegan Ashley and Leah Chauvin. Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, Richard Cassano, her son, Kurt Faller, her grandson, Jason Cause and peggy’s loving friend and companion of 5 years, Robert Holzmann.
