Margaret I. Gordon, 84, of Port Charlotte, Florida went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.
Margaret was born July 28, 1927 in Jamaica, West Indies and later moved to England where she lived for a number of years. She later migrated to the U.S. where she lived in Bronx, N.Y. and in 1989 she moved to Port Charlotte where she made the state of Florida her permanent state to reside. She was a woman who loved to walk everywhere and enjoying the panorama of nature. She loved to garden when she could but greater than all she enjoyed her precious time primarily with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving sons, Patrick Kirlew of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Launcely Wright of Jamaica; 2 sisters, Ruth Hall of Port Charlotte and Pearl Heron of Bronx, NY; a brother, Basil Cox of Jamaica; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, 10 nephews and 7 nieces including Joy Rhodes.
Visitation will be 6:00PM-8:00PM, Friday, August 19, 2011 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00AM, Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Community Church of God, 3485 Jones Street Port Charlotte, FL. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Port Charlotte, FL.
