Margaret R. Goddard, 100, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at her Punta Gorda residence.
Born Margaret Brown Reid on June 7, 1916 in Glasgow, Scotland, Margaret, a former Fashion Design teacher, moved to Punta Gorda with her daughter Joyce and son-in-law Thomas Mack, from Valrico, FL. Prior to that, Margaret had resided in Massachusetts.
She is survived her children, Joyce D. (Thomas) Mack, Margaret J. (James) Turner, Ivan L. Goddard, and David E. (Patricia) Goddard; 10 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death, by her husband of over 50 years, Ivan, on December 30, 1992.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. with service at 3 p.m. for Margaret this Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Roberson Funeral Homes, 215 Mary Street in Punta Gorda. Burial will be in Canton, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Margaret’s name are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
