Jeanette, my cousin and so much more. We were the last of the Smith side of the family, having memories only we could recall. She was a wonderful wife, mother and in our early years an instigator and co-conspirator in some adventures. We were always happiest on the beach at Ocean City or Avalon. We could talk for hours and never stop, her advice and opinions were always given even if I wasn't sure I wanted them! One conversation will remain with me always. We were on the beach and I was dealing with five of my eight kids being teen-agers. I ask Jeanette, whose five were all functioning adults by then, " when do you stop worrying about you kids"? She thought for a moment and said, "I'll let you know". Her family was always on her mind, I'm sure to her last moment. She was the best Catholic I have ever known, when able she attended Mass three times a week, served as a lector and Eucharistic minister and prayed for all of her concerns and causes. To say "sorry" seems so inadequate but Jim & I send our sincere sympathy to Bob, Kathy, Tom, Steve, Mike and Kris and their families. Love, Floss

I always looked forward to seeing Jan and Bob as their handyman at 5 of the villas, condos and full-sized residences in Plantation Golf and Country Club, Venice FL! Jan was usually ‘in charge’ and knew exactly what was to be done (and often, how to do it!). A piece of humor: I cut a doorway into one of her bedrooms years ago to make it easier to access, but doing so necessitated cutting a power line. Jan showed up and declared that I cost her a recording of her favorite Soaps that day! Yes, she loved the Soaps, knowing full well that the scripts barely move in a day’s time! Of course that issue gave us an issue to ha ha over; always had fun chatting with her and usually being on the losing side! I think Bob always liked me being around and taking some of the ‘heat’ off of him! Great couple they are/were! I missed them a bunch when they left town! Glad to see she reached 90, and surely had a full life with a super husband and lots of family!!!
