Mario Thomas (Tom) Sgriccia, 86, of Punta Gorda, Florida, died Thursday, September 27, 2007 at his residence.
Tom was born April 4, 1921 in Clymer, Pennsylvania, and was a veteran of U.S. Army and project engineer for the Manhattan Project during World War II. A retired Mechanical Engineer, he moved from Grand Rapids, Michigan to Punta Gorda in 1981, and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Marie T. Sgriccia; three daughters, Vicki A. (husband Bill) Stewart of Broken Arrow, OK, Mia T. (Marty) Money of Travers City, MI, and Rita L. Sgriccia of Port Charlotte, FL; five sons, Thomas Sgriccia of East Lancing, MI, James (wife Valerie) Sgriccia of Clinton Township, MI, William (Mary Anne) Sgriccia of Livonia, MI, John (Sue) Sgriccia of Livonia, MI, and Joseph D. Sgriccia of Port Charlotte, FL; nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
