Mario Simeone, 81, of North Port, Florida died Saturday, August 30, 2025, at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital.
Mario was born in Italy on February 13, 1944, and later emigrated to the US with his family when he was fourteen. He was a veteran of the National Guard of the United States. Mario was also a retired chef who enjoyed cooking for friends and family. He enjoyed gardening and growing fig trees and spicy peppers. He had many pets over the years but doted on his current dogs, Max and Maddy. He also cared for birds, Ringo and Jezebel, that he raised with his late wife Lorraine.
Survivors include children Mario Simeone, Jr of Southington, Connecticut, Bob Simeone and his wife, Kristin of Punta Gorda, Florida, Teresa Seibert and her husband, Glenn of Yardley, Pennsylvania; grandchildren Nicholas Simeone, Anthony Simeone, Haley McClure and her wife Marissa, Connor McClure, Justin Simeone, Victoria Simeone, Jack Seibert and his wife, Aubrey, and Mark Seibert. He is joining his family who have gone before him including his parents, Paolo and Cecilia (Izzo) Simeone, his sister, Josephine Feole, his recently passed wife, Lorraine, and his daughter, Michele (Simeone) McClure.
A mass will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 11 am at St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church 21505 Augusta Ave, Port Charlotte, Florida 33952.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Camp Rising Sun Charitable Foundation, PO Box 472, Branford, Connecticut, 06405.
