Marjorie was born December 23, 1924, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Stanley and Nannie Powell. Marjorie worked for the Navy Department in Washington, DC as a assistant. She was well loved for her cooking ability, especially her fried chicken and her incredible sense of humor. Marjorie, and her husband Willie “Bill” P. Bohannon, moved to Port Charlotte from Dayton, OH, in 1995 with the birth of their triplet grandchildren (Emily, Brittney and Cody). Marjorie and Bill were very active in the Elks Lodge of Dayton, OH and continued to be in Port Charlotte.
Marjorie is survived by her sisters, Janet and Shirley, both of Florida, and Virginia of Ohio; multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren including the most recent addition of Myah Marie born on Margie’s birthday, and many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by sisters, Phyllis and Myrtle, and brothers, Vernon, William, Willard and Harry Powell, as well as her two children, son Pat and daughter Kimmy, and the love of her life and husband of 52 years, Bill.
Visitation and Funeral Services remembering Marjorie will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Roberson Funeral Homes, 2151 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until start of services at 11 a.m. Committal service with interment to follow will be held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery in Port Charlotte, where she will be laid to rest with her husband Bill.
