Marjorie was born September 21, 1948 in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Port Charlotte in 1974. She worked for the Public School system for over 30 years retiring as the Executive Secretary to the Superintendent. She was a wonderful woman who enjoyed life to the fullest and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Survivors include her son, David C. Smith of Port Charlotte; her daughter, Debbie Fantin of North Port, FL; 4 sisters, Ruthann Sielhammer of New Dairy, PA, Virginia Martin of Lakeland, FL, Janet Hastings of Port Charlotte and Patricia Goettel of Pittsburgh, PA; 4 grandchildren, Kyle, Jason, Lauren and David and 1 great-granddaughter, Peyton.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held 3PM-5PM, Friday, June 12, 2015 at Freedom Bible Church, 500 Sable St. Port Charlotte, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Charlotte Harbor School 22450 Hancock Ave. Port Charlotte, FL 33980.

She was so talented, making all kinds of crafts. I still have the mirror made out of kids blocks that she made for my son Andrew. I was so shocked and saddened to learn of her passing. May God comfort her family and all the friends she leaves behind.

It was with great shock and sadness that I saw Margie's obituary this morning. I was the art and music teacher at Charlotte Harbor from 1994-2012, so I worked with Margie for many years. Not only was she a terrific principal's secretary (she was the perfect person for the front desk!) but she was a friend to so many of us, always cheerful and full of life. I purchased several of her beautiful craft items over the years. She was really talented! Even though I haven't seen her in awhile, I will always remember her cheerfulness. I know you, her family members, as well as all her friends,will miss her greatly. She was truly one of a kind.
