Mary McClusky, 88, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Monday, September 7, 2009 at Douglas T. Jacobson State Veterans Nursing Home, Port Charlotte.
She was born February 28, 1921 in Mayville, Wisconsin to Joseph and Agnes Balaban and moved to Port Charlotte in 1981 from Lansing,Illinois. Mary was a veteran of World War II,U.S. Navy Waves, serving as a Parachute Rigger First Class. She was a member of the American Legion, Order of the Eastern Star and Women of the Moose, in Indiana, the AmVets Post 1999 of Port Charlotte, a charter member of the World War II Memorial Foundation and Navy Waves national organization.
Survived by, a son, Milan Markovich of Rotunda West, FL; two grandchildren,
Brian Markovich and Kimberly Bocock; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony McClusky who died in 2000.
