I hadn't heard about his passing until now. I worked with Matt for several years and learned a great deal from his guidance and extensive knowledge. I'm so glad he was able to enjoy his love of fishing and golfing and family through his retirement.

Dolly and Family I am very sorry to hear of Matt's passing. I was just talking about him the other week about my first interview with him. When working for him, you knew he loved his family deeply because I don't think he missed a day without mentioning at least one family member! He really was a great boss and mentor. Praying for you all and that with time, your tears and sadness will be replaced with happy memories. With love - Kathryn

My condolences to the extended Syrek family. I loved working with Matt and he was one of the few people I’d ever let get away with mispronunciation of my name for over 20 years, lol! He truly was a leader in his field and I learned a lot from him. Rest in peace, Matt. Bijan

I am deeply saddened by Matt’s passing You are blessed in life if you have a great friend - Matt was that to me. From fishing to gambling to golf it was always fun and laughter but when the chips were down and you needed a friend he was there. His advice and council I could never repay him for that. He leaves a big void in my life RIP Dear friend
