Mrs. Mavis R. Williams, 62, of Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Queens, New York, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in Port Charlotte.
Born Mavis R. Groves on January 5, 1949 in Jamaica West Indies to Harold and Estella Groves, Mavis, a mother of three and retired Home Health Aide, moved from New York to Charlotte County with her husband Mario F. Williams in 2004. She was a current member of Calvary Assembly of God in Port Charlotte, and will be lovingly missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Mario, and her children, daughters Allison Carrington and Nisha Howell; son, Mario H. Williams; and five grandchildren, Thelisha and Tavone Carrington, Taizha and Jayden Howell, and Victoryia Parchment; her mother, Estella Groves; a sister, Daisy Fletcher; brothers Joseph and Donald Groves; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mavis was preceded in death by her father, Harold.
