Born Mavis R. Groves on January 5, 1949 in Jamaica West Indies to Harold and Estella Groves, Mavis, a mother of three and retired Home Health Aide, moved from New York to Charlotte County with her husband Mario F. Williams in 2004. She was a current member of Calvary Assembly of God in Port Charlotte, and will be lovingly missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Mario, and her children, daughters Allison Carrington and Nisha Howell; son, Mario H. Williams; and five grandchildren, Thelisha and Tavone Carrington, Taizha and Jayden Howell, and Victoryia Parchment; her mother, Estella Groves; a sister, Daisy Fletcher; brothers Joseph and Donald Groves; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mavis was preceded in death by her father, Harold.

and it is hard for us to believe
that you will never again sit there.
Our hearts will always grieve,
but we know our tears are less for you and more for us.
For Aunt Mavis, your pain is gone, and your soul flies free,
and we know a part of you is still left with all of wi !!!
Losing a loved one leaves a heartache no one can heal, but their loving memory is a precious gift that no one can steal! Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, and still miss.

I finally build up the courage to do this. My mom was one of the greatest woman that walk this earth. She was beautiful, compassionate, loving, caring, strong and most of all a great woman of God. She was a wonderful mother, special to all her children and grandchildren. We miss her terribly. I sit here in tears as I am writing this. Her passing is as fresh as if it happen yesterday. The third year of her passing is tomorrow 03/02/2014. Some say it will get easier has the time go by to deal with. If it was so why is this the third year and I am still feeling it as if it was the day of.03/02/2011.Mommy I miss you so very much. I love very, very, very, much and I know you are in heaven smiling.
