Melinda “Linda” Nantiya Overway-Grube,50, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Tampa General Hospital due to a brain aneurysm.
Linda was born at US Naval Base, Guam to Lawrence P. and Tida Overway on March 18, 1974. Linda moved to Austin, TX with her family at a young age.
Linda graduated from Bowie High School in 1992 and attended University of Texas at Austin. She then went to work for Marriott Hotels as a manager and director working in Nashville, Tennessee, Tiverton, Rhode Island, and Austin, Texas, where she met her husband, Paul Grube Sr., who was a long-term guest. Her outgoing personality, kindness to all, and her hard work ethic, made her successful in her field.
Linda was an animal lover of most creatures big and small, especially her Australian cattle dog, “Nikki,” who misses her greatly. Linda was selfless and would lend a hand to anyone in need. She loved her family unconditionally and cherished her many friends.
She will be forever missed by her mother, Tida Overway, her brother, Mike (Mei) and their children, Jonathan, Jeremy, Joseph and Justin (all of Austin), her brother Paul Overway of Holland, MI, sister Nancy Overway, her loving husband Paul Grube Sr of Port Charlotte, Florida, Paul’s son Jason Grube (Alexandra) and their children Miles and Paige of Truckee California, Paul Grube Jr. (Heather) and future children of Westerly, Rhode Island, Paul’s granddaughter Taylor Burgess of Dallas, Texas and countless friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her father Lawrence Overway and Jennifer Grube. Linda donated her organs to give the gift of life to others. May she rest in peace.
