Melisa “Missy” Jo Payne, 54, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away on Monday, May 16th, 2022.
Missy was born in Wayne, MI, to the late William M. Vanover and mother, Charlotte Y. Vanover, on May 15th, 1968. Missy would meet and marry the love of her life, Allan J Majors, in 2006, and together go on many adventures. She loved being a wife, daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grammy, mom to her furbabies, and friend. She spent her time making everlasting memories and always welcomed everyone with open arms. Beautiful inside and out, her laugh was contagious, and she truly touched so many lives. Missy also served as a member and past Officer of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 550, in Pilot Point, TX.
In addition to her father, William, Missy was preceded in death by her grandfather, Joseph C Palmore and grandmother, Gladys Palmore. She is survived by her beloved husband Allan J Majors; mother, Charlotte Y Vanover; sister, Tammy L Hendricks, sons, Branden W Thomas, Tyler C Payne, and Preston A Majors; daughters, Jessica C Majors and Amanda J Payne; nieces, Chelsey T Griffin and Terzah L Hendricks; daughter-in-law, Brenda L Payne; and her greatest gift, her grandson, Oliver C Payne.
Visitation for Missy will be held at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel, from 1pm to 2pm on Saturday, May 21st, 2022, with funeral service at 2pm. Committal and Entombment will follow the service at Restlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery also in Port Charlotte.
