Mercedes O. Provost, 89, of Punta Gorda, FL. ( Deep Creek) passed away Monday, October 20, 2008 at Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, of Arcadia, FL
.
She was born May 24, 1919 in Hardwick, Vermont and moved to Punta Gorda 21 years ago from there. Mercedes graduated from Hardwick Academy. She worked as a secretary for 14 years at Hardwick Trust Company and was co-owner and operator of Mer-Lu’s Restaurant for 30 years in Vermont. She retired in 1977 and moved to Deep Creek in 1987. Member of Deep Creek Golf Club and San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte.

Survived by a dear brother in law , Ferand Cournoyer of Punta Gorda; preceded in death by her husband, Harold Provost and 2 sisters and one brother.

There will be a memorial mass 10:30 AM Monday October 27, 2008 at San Antonio Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in Hardwick, Vermont
