Merlan F. Davis, Sr., 73, of North Port, Florida formerly of Wauchula, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 25, 2017.
Merlan was born on March 22, 1944 to the late Alvin & Lessie Davis of Bowling Green, FL. Merlan was a truck driver and worked for Chapman Fruit Company for many years. He was also in the Real Estate Industry with his wife Nancy. Merlan enjoyed all outside activities. He was an avid fisherman and would fish every chance he had. He loved being with his family and friends playing dominoes and bean bags. (He especially enjoyed winning). His grandsons were precious to him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his son, Merlan F. Davis, Jr; his daughter, Marilyn Fay Davis; his step-sons, Brad Owens, Whit Watson and Wyatt Watson; his grandsons, Cory J. Hines and Carter Owens; a brother, Sidney Davis and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service celebrating Merlan’s Life was held at the Fort Green Baptist Church in Bowling Green.
