Michael “Mike” Joseph Barker, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away on Thursday, October 5th, 2023.
Mike was born on April 6th,1973 in Smithtown, New York. Mike moved to Port Charlotte when he was an adolescent. He worked in carpentry for most of his life, started his own business in 2019. Mike was a simple man who loved playing with his grandkids, fishing, cooking, watching baseball, and being around his family and those he loved. Mike also loved to listen to country music these past few years, and just attended a concert with his wife, Teresa, in August.
Mike is loved and survived by his wife Teresa Barker, his children; Brandon Barker, Brooke Barker, Breanna Dolan, his grandchildren; Hayden and Julien, his mother and father; Nancy Whitmire, and Steve Barker; and his sister Jessica Barker.
Although Mike was only here for a short time, he left an unforgettable impression on all our hearts. His spirit will live on through his family and friends, by recalling memorable memories while also creating new memories in remembrance of him. It’s not goodbye, only we will see you later. May Michael rest in eternal peace.
