Nancy R. Burton, 59, of Punta Gorda, Florida died Sunday, July 22, 2018 in Punta Gorda.

Nancy was born September 15, 1958 in Beaufort, South Carolina to the late Edward M. and Ruth (Beanblossom) Golden. She and her husband Bob moved to Punta Gorda in 1992 from Homestead, Florida. Nancy was a biologist for the City of North Port and volunteer biologist for the Audubon Society.

She is survived by her loving family, her husband, John Robert “Bob” Burton of Punta Gorda; a daughter, Tara (Sam) Hendry of Brooksville, FL and a son, Matthew Burton of Punta Gorda; a sister, Cindy Kuczynski of Valdosta, GA; a brother, Michael Golden of Milledgeville, GA; and two grandchildren, Benjamin and Josiah Hendry.

Memorial services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM, July 28, 2018 at Roberson Funeral Home Punta Gorda Chapel, 215 Mary Street, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. Interment will be held at a later In Georgia.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the National Audubon Society www.audubon.corg
