Pastor Emelcia L. Toney-Nelson, 82, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.

Emelcia was born to Jonas and Josephine Toney on May 17, 1934 in Trinidad & Tobago. Emelcia was an amazing woman who did everything she could for others. She was a register nurse for many years at Fawcett Memorial Hospital. She did numerous works for missionary ministries in many locations including Tobago and Georgia. She wrote an essay on Nursing in Ministries. Emelcia was a strong woman who worked very hard so that others can learn from. She will be missed dearly by all who loved and knew her.

Survivors include her loving daughters, Rachel, Rheba and Ruthella Logan, Colleen, Dessarae and Staycie Nelson and Judy Dickerson; 4 sons, Rawle and Robert Logan, Bishop Edison (Sharon) Nelson and Reynold Augustine; 2 sisters, Evelyn Guerra and Joycelyn Peters; her brothers, Harold Toney and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 2 sons, Rodell and Marc Logan; a brother, Wilfred St. Clair and her sister, Enid Toney.

Visitation will be held 6:00PM-8:00PM with a Service at 7:00PM on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Funeral services and interment will be held at a later date in New York.
