Linda Gillen left a message on December 7, 2022:
Dear John, Dana, Stephanie and family, I am blessed to have wonderful memories of Pat! She and I were very active in our church UCW’s Living Faith Circle. When I was Circle Chair, I could always count on Pat to be one of the first to volunteer without hesitation. Through our Circle’s “Heart Connection”, Pat spoke about the sailboat, family and life events so important to her. We have shared many laughs and hugs! “May the LORD watch between thee & me while we are absent one from another.” Genesis 31:49 In Faith & Love, Linda & Peter Gillen

Gardner Soule left a message on November 22, 2022:
Sally and I are winter residents in Punta Gorda and often attended the same church as the Ward's. We are also members of the Punta Gorda Boat Club and got to know John and Pat there also. They always seemed quite a few years younger than their actual ages. I could imagine Captain Ward just stepping out of the cockpit of his American Airlines Astrojet and then he and Pat setting sail in their Catalina 34 to harbors far and near. Sally and I are sad to learn of Pat's passing and know John will be supported by his loving family, friends, church members and fellow mariners.
