She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, Nathan Jarvis, Rachael Jarvis, Brittni Compagnon (Jason), Matt Stewart, Eric Jarvis (Carlie), Chris Rocheleau (Kerri), Greg Stewart (Luvh) and Natalie Icart (Kevin) and 2 great grandchildren, Caiden and Claire Jarvis.
Patty was predeceased by her parents, Kermit Reid McAllister, Nina (Miller) McAllister, her sister, Jean Russell and her cousin, who was like a sister to her, Kay Webb. She was also predeceased by her stepmother, Hilda (Morse) McAllister.
She was born on November 25, 1934, in Burlington, Vermont and graduated from Burlington High School in 1954. In 1956, she married Gordie Jarvis and although they later divorced, they remained good friends and even visited with each other quite often in the past two years, while both living in Florida.
Patty raised her 4 children while she worked at Lake Buick for 25 years in the service department and then after retiring, she worked at JC Penney for 12 years.
In March 2023, Patty moved to Sandhill Gardens, an assisted care facility in Punta Gorda, FL. She loved her two years there, making wonderful friends with other residents and staff and spreading her sunshine and love to all of them. She loved all of the activities there and would win bingo so often that she felt bad for others who lost! Patty’s favorite things in life were first and foremost her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved baking and cooking tons of food at family gatherings, knitting, taking trips to Ogunquit, Maine and Lake George, NY with her two daughters, but most of all, she loved to dance and was always the best dancer in the room!
Patty will be remembered for her bundles of love and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be missed by many. To those who knew her well, we can all agree that she is having the time of her life up in heaven, dancing her blessed heart away.
There will be a graveside service at 1pm on July 26th at Lakeview Cemetery 455 North Avenue, Burlington, Vermont, with her celebration of life immediately following from 2 – 5 pm at the Eagles Club at 1233 Shelburne Rd., South Burlington, VT. “Big Hugs to All”
