Patricia A. “Pat” Fox, 73, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Gloversville and Northville, New York, passed away Saturday, May 7th, 2016, at her Port Charlotte home.
Born November 9, 1942, in Peekskill, New York, to the late Martin Van Deusen and Martha Madeline (nee – Carey) Hunt, Pat, a New York Public Schools Library Media Specialist, retired with her husband of 46 years, Charles J. Fox, to Port Charlotte in 2004 full time, leaving her native New York. The Fox’s had been wintering in Port Charlotte since 1998. She was a member and former Officer and President of Chapters in New York and S.W. Florida, of the American Association of University Women, for 40 plus years.
She is survived by her children, daughters’ Traci (John) Maurer of Hamburg, NY, and Brandi Fox of Gloversville, NY, and son, Jeffrey (Sue) Fox of Delmar, NY: a sister-in-law, Marion “Marny” (Paul) Boardway of Port Charlotte, FL; four grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband Charles, on October 31, 2012.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, at San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. Further services and committal will be held at a later date in New York.
In lieu of flowers, memorial bequests in Pat’s name are suggested to a charity of individual choice.
