Paul B. Wiesman, 87, of Punta Gorda, Florida died Monday, February 19, 2024, in Port Charlotte. Paul was born to Francis and Eleanor Wiesman on September 1, 1936, in Worcester, Massachusetts and moved to Punta Gorda in 1999.

Paul graduated from North High School, Worcester, where his father taught science and math. The day he acquired his driver’s license, he got his first job at Turpels Pharmacy delivering prescriptions. From there, he worked at Harrington & Richardson where he discovered his love for guns, and he became an avid collector. He had a great appreciation for the craftsmanship of the wood and metal detailing. He went to work at Wyman Gordon where he learned computer systems and programming. He became proficient at computer programming, and being entrepreneur minded, he became freelance and travelled the country helping large corporations with their computer systems and programming.
In 1976, his 1953 Oldsmobile 98 Holiday had a leaking hydraulic window cylinder. He was able to fix it with help and started Hydro-E-Lectric. Hydro-E-Lectric is a leader for convertible top and power window parts in the automotive industry. He worked diligently growing his business and wanted his family involved, and currently has the third generation working there.
Paul and Virginia spent many summers and long weekends in Ogunquit, Maine. This was his happy place and where they enjoyed spending much of their time with family and friends. Paul loved to read. He was a wealth of wisdom, experience, and had a wonderful approach to life.
Of all Paul’s accomplishments, he was most proud of his family. Family was his biggest love, and he was a dedicated and loyal husband and father.
