Peter J. Lonneville, 89, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in Port Charlotte.
Born November 11, 1922 in Farmington, New York to the late Julia and Clement Lonneville, Peter, a veteran of World War II, U.S. Army and retired Purchasing Agent with Garlock Inc. for 45 years, moved from Palmyra, New York to Port Charlotte with his wife Dorothy in 1986. He regularly volunteered at Fawcett Memorial Hospital as Parking Shuttle Attendant, and attended Port Charlotte United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Port Charlotte Methodist Men’s Club and member of the Robert L. Cochran, Jr. Disabled American Veterans Chapter 82 in Port Charlotte; the B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 1249 in Newark, New York; member and Past Commander the Zenobia Commandery No. 41KT, and Past Master and Past District Deputy of Masonic Lodge No. 248, both in Palmyra, NY.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothy M. Lonneville; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Valerie Lonneville; and brother, Edward C. Lonneville. In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by a brother, Charles, and sister, Mary.
Visitation will be held 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. with Funeral Services at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 12, 2012 at Port Charlotte United Methodist Church in Port Charlotte. A private entombment with Military Honors will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte. Rev. Brian James, Pastor Port Charlotte United Methodist will officiate.
