Peter Louis Forster, 85, of Punta Gorda, Florida died Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Port Charlotte Rehabilitation Center, Port Charlotte, Florida.

Peter was born March 22, 1941, in Meriden, Connecticut to the late Otto and Mary (Collins) Forster. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a retired police officer in Connecticut. Peter moved to Florida in 1986. He was a member Trinity Global Methodist Church where he was part of the church ministry and known as “Brother Peter.”

Survived by his loving family, his wife, Diana “Dee” L. Forster; a daughter, Jennifer Collies; a stepdaughter, Media Jenkins; and sister, Virginia Lach and 2 grandchildren, Lillian Grace “Lily” Collies and Spencer Forster Collies. He was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Forster and son, Christopher Louis Forster.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday 11:00 AM, June 8, 2026, at the Trinity Global Methodist Church, 23084 Seneca Ave., Port Charlotte, FL 33980.

Graveside services and military honors by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard will be held Tuesday 10:30 AM at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida.
