Phillip Fliesher, 86, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 in Port Charlotte. Phillip was born on January 24, 1924 to Isador and Esther (Past) Fliesher. He was a retired Postal worker with the United States Postal Service. He was a proud WW II veteran who received numerous battle stars for his service in the pacific on board The USS Cowpens. He spent six years in the US Navy and graduated from Photo School & Motion Picture School before receiving an Honorable discharge in 1948. After retiring and moving to Florida twenty five years ago, Phillip quickly became a Florida man. Phillip enjoyed traveling, fishing and cooking. He loved to entertain friends and family in his home. He was a member of Elks Lodge, American Legion and D.A.V.. Phillip was generous to friends and family and a regular contributor to numerous charities.
Phillip is survived by his brother, Benjamin Fliesher of St. Louis, Missouri; nephews and nieces and friends. Preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia Fliesher and his siblings Harry Fliesher, Bernice (Fliesher) Berman.
