RALPH M. BRABON, 82, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Thursday, June 09, 2011 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte, Florida.
He was born April 14, 1929 in Flint, Michigan and moved to Port Charlotte 13 years ago from Manassas, Virginia. Ralph was a veteran and served in the U. S. Air Force and U.S. Army. Ralph spent his lifetime in military and government service, retiring from the Army in 1967 as Chief Warrant Officer. He was known as a hard charging, retired solider who was a Past Commander and member of Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.) Chapter #82 of Port Charlotte. He attended the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church.
Survived by his loving family, a daughter, Janiese B. Schroeck of North Fort Myers, FL; a son, Douglas R. Brabon of Verona, VA; three sisters, Joyce Clevenger of Michigan, Dorothy McConnell of Michigan and Sharon Craig of California; a brother, Ronald Brabon of Michigan;
three grandchildren, Rusty Schroeck, Danielle Cassano, and Michelle Brabon; two great grandchildren, Kylie and Carson Cassano. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie S. Brabon. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather; and a friend to all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held Monday 10:00 AM, June 13, 2011 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Rev. J. Ralph Burton, Jr. and D.A.V. Chapter #82 will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Interment with military honors by a U.S. Army Honor Guard will be held Monday 2:00 PM, June 13, 2011 at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida.
