RAY D. HEPLER, 96, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Thursday, November 01, 2007 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte.
He was born February 23, 1911 in Koscicusko County, Indiana near Nappanee,
Indiana and moved to Port Charlotte in 1976 from Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a
retired pharmacist and a graduate of the Indianapolis College of Pharmacy. Ray owned and operated a drug store for many years in Fort Wayne and was a life member of
the Fort Wayne-Allen County Pharmacist Association. He was a member of the
Port Charlotte United Methodist Church, where he was a life member of the United
Methodist Men’s Club of the church. Ray served as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte County for many years and also delivered Meals On Wheels for Health Plus
of Charlotte County for 15 years. He was a veteran of World War II, U.S. Navy.
He is survived by a niece, Harriet Wise of Shipshewana, IN; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Laverne Hepler who died last year.
