Raymond “Ray” or “Doc” J. Corso, 69, of Port Charlotte Florida died Friday, April 19, 2019 at Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte.
Ray was born February 17, 1950 in New Haven, Connecticut to the late Jospeh and Carrie Corso. He moved to Port Charlotte in 1989 from New Haven, Connecticut. Ray was a retired Blues musician and the founder of the “The Original Doctor Dirt Band.” He loved motorcycles, antique and muscle cars. He had a passion for boxing and was a boxing trainer; he loved dogs and was also a dog trainer. Ray was an avid New York Yankee fan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Norma J. Corso of Port Charlotte; and many friends, including Raymond Bright of New Haven, Connecticut who Ray mentored and treated like a son.
A gathering for family and friends will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM to Celebrate Ray’s Life at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel, 2151 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33948.
