Regina M. “Jean” Klynoot, 71, of Punta Gorda, Florida and Ocean Pines, Maryland passed away suddenly at home in Florida on Saturday, December 16, 2017.
Jean was born July 2, 1946 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to Edmund Januszko and Dorothy (Gabana) Janusko. She was a graduate of Coughlin High School and married her husband, Eugene P. Klynoot on January 29, 1966. In her earlier years Jean worked as a bookkeeper, licensed cosmetologist and in large appliance sales. Jean and Gene moved to Punta Gorda in 2002 from Pennsylvania and continued to spend summers at their home in Ocean Pines, Maryland. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Punta Gorda. Her great accomplishments were raising two fine sons, Jeff and Ray. She was the finest wife and friend imaginable.
She is survived by her loving family, her husband of 51 years, Maj. Gen. Eugene P. “Gene” Klynoot, retired of Punta Gorda; a son, Raymond (Leslie) Klynoot of Covington, LA; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jeffrey (Monica) Klynoot of Fredericksburg, PA; a brother, Edmund Januszko, Jr. of Shavertown, PA; a granddaughter, Stella Klynoot of Fredericksburg, PA and a grandson, Derek (Devon) Eisenberg, U.S. Air Force, a granddaughter, Isabella Klynoot and a grandson, Brody Klynoot of Covington, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, Jane M. Barber, her son, Staff Sgt. Jeffrey E. Klynoot, U.S.Army and Army National Guard.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania. Jean will be interred in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA where her son, Jeffrey is interred.
