The Arps family invites friends to attend a Celebration of Life gathering for Regina, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 10th, 2017, at the Green Valley Country Club located at 225 Green Valley Road, Greenville, SC 29617.

In lieu of flowers, to honor Regina, memorial giving is suggested to the American Cancer Society, 2970 University Parkway Suite 104, Sarasota, FL 34243.

Regina Schneider Arps, 73, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017, at her Port Charlotte residence.

Regina was born February 20, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Lee A. and Catherine T. Schneider. Regina met and married William V. “Bill” Arps, and together, left their native Toledo for Greenville, South Carolina where they raised two daughters. Regina, a former Legal Secretary, retired with her husband Bill to Port Charlotte in 2007, where they had been wintering since 2005. She enjoyed many activities, but none more than weekly Friday night fish dinner with friends, exercising at Curves’, weekly Bingo night, Tuesday Bridge Club at the Port Charlotte Cultural Center, and regular visits to the Punta Gorda Elk’s Lodge and Port Charlotte Loyal Order of Moose.

In addition to her parents, Regina was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Henry, in 2017. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, William V. “Bill” Arps, and daughter Kelli Carlton of Greenville, SC; son-in-law, husband of Karen, John Henry of Greenville, SC; four grandchildren, Zak, Taylor, Samantha, and Sawyer; and one sister.

Remember laughing with Regina over nothing at all -- observations of the day, Florida life, Bill's golf game. A wonderful, memorable lady. Definitely not a face in the crowd. Lorraine, Elaine, and I read with sadness about her passing. My personal prayers and affection to Bill, one of my favorite patients and people. God bless and keep you close.

Bill , my thoughts are with you and your family . As golfing buddies at Holly Tree CC we had some nice times with our wives over the years . As you know I lost Helen four years ago. Your family and friends will be your strength. After a time you will able to move on into the next phase of your life . Bill and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Ricci was loved and missed at 1200 Pelham. We thought of her often - "Bridge Club" was never the same when ya'll moved away. I had no idea that Karen was your daughter--we were friends through banking and Aflac association. She was a beautiful person inside and out-just like Ricci. We moved away and will not be able to attend services in Greenville. Please know that thoughts and prayers for you will continue. With deepest sympathy-Pat & Bob Harrison

I lost a good friend from bridge with Ricci's passing. We would commiserate about each other's health problems and try to brighten each other's day. RIP Ricci, I will miss you.
