Born March 28, 1931 in Paterson, New Jersey, Dick moved to Punta Gorda in 1991 from Wayne, New Jersey. A decorated veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War, he worked many years in newspaper publishing for large papers including the Miami Herald.
He is survived by his wife Lois Ann Gaffney of Punta Gorda, one brother Joe Gaffney of Kingsland, TX, 23 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
