Rita was born October 27, 1942 in Haiti and moved to Port Charlotte 19 years ago from Irvington, New Jersey. She was a passionate worker with the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Youth Group. She was very much devoted in the Haitian Community for many years. She was a retired home health care registered nurse. She was a loving wife and mother and will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Pouplard Brutus, Sr.; her son, Pouplard Brutus, Jr. of Port Charlotte, FL; her brother, Dr. Eddy G. Rodriguez of Valley Stream, NJ, and numerous steps-brothers and sisters.
