Robert Dean “Bob” House, age 65, went to his heavenly home Wednesday, February 15th, 2023.
He was born in International Falls, Minnesota on September 17th,1957 to George and Delores (Espe) House. Bob grew up in Ray, Minnesota becoming a logger with his brothers and dad. He joined the Marines from 1976 – 1979. He served in the U.S. Army from 1985-1988; and continued to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves while he went to college and majored in law and the years that followed.
He moved to Charlotte County, Florida in 1988, with his mom and Jack, and became a carpenter. While working for his boss, the two became best friends. Shortly after, Bob became a Deputy with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Department from 1989 – 1996. While he was a Sheriff’s Deputy, Bob was called to serve our country in the Gulf War from 1990 – 1991. Afterward, Bob became self employed as a Tree Broker and married his wife, former Wendy Randall on July 12th, 2003.
Bob retired with his wife on their farm with their pigs and cat. He loved the outdoors, nature and animals, tending to his huge vegetable garden canning all his crops. He took great pride in his dill pickles and pickled beets! Bob loved to help out his neighbors when needed. Last but not least, he was an avid studier of Common Law and teacher.
He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Wendy House, mother, Delores Linsten, Aunt Jackie Robertson, Sister, Bonnie (late Wimp) Funk, brother, Greg (Sherry) House, brother Frank (Eileen) House and sister Rita Pettit, uncles, aunts and many nieces and nephews, as well as his good friends, Bob P, Brian G, Jeff B and Bill L. He was preceded in death by his father George House and his wife Dorothy, and brother -in- law Wilmer Funk.
A Memorial service for Bob will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Roberson Funeral Home in Punta Gorda, located at 215 Mary Street.
