Mr. Robert M. Manos, 78, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away Friday morning, February 6, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born Robert Morris Manos on January 3, 1931 in New Haven, Connecticut, Robert, a retired stationery engraver and the 26 year proprietor of Swanson Engraving Company in New Haven, lived in West Haven, CT until relocating to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1986. He was a life member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 1532 of West Haven, CT and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 764 of North Port, FL; member of the Son’s of the American Legion Post 103 of Punta Gorda, FL and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3296 of Port Charlotte. He attended Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Port Charlotte.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Caroline R. Manos, and six children; daughter Lin Kalomeris, son Robert M. Manos, Jr., daughter’s Kathleen Rocco, Lauretta Jackson and Sheryl Ambrosini, and son James A. Manos; one brother, James Manos, and three sister’s, Beulah Briggs, Marion Cook and Elizabeth Manos; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Mabel Manos, a brother, Richard, and sister, Dorothy.
