Robert John Moser, 93, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away July 21, 2012 in Port Charlotte.

Robert was born January 18, 1919 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and moved to Port Charlotte from Queens, NY in 1990. He worked many years as a chandelier maker and was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served during WWII. Robert was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, Port Charlotte, FL.

Survived by his loving wife, Theresa C. Moser of Port Charlotte; daughter Terry Burke of North Port, FL and son, Robert Moser of Port Charlotte; brother John Moser of Gainesville, FL and many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by sons, Stephen Thomas and Alan Michael and daughter Elise Mary.

A visitation will be held 6-8 P.M. with a wake service at 7 P.M. Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 A.M. Friday, July 27, 2012 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. Inurnment and military honors will be held 11 A.M. Monday, July 30, 2012 at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL.

It is hard to understand why the good die young. Bob was a patient in my dental office and more importantly my friend. When my son was born 12 years ago, I remember both he and Terry would bring me 'goodie bags' for him, with a lollipop and a dollar. It touched me so much that someone would do that. He was quite the comic and would tell stories from his time in the service. I know that last week we reached out to the family to see how things were going for both he and Terry. We were shocked to learn he was in hospice and not expected to return home. Reading the newspaper and seeing his name there, absolutely felt like someone stabbed me in the heart. Our loss is Heaven's gain- a wonderful, funny, and very special man to many. My prayers are with Terry & the entire extended family. Know that Bob is resting comfortably and out of pain. Peace & love to all!
