Robert W. Massey, 83, of Port Charlotte, Florida died peacefully at home on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020.
Robert was born Nov. 24, 1936, in Kingston, Jamaica, to the late Henry and Sylvia Massey, and lived in New Jersey most of his life. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. For the majority of his career, he was a sales manager in New York City for carton and label manufacturing companies serving the cosmetics industry.
Robert is survived by his loving family, two sons, Robert J. Massey of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Kevin J. Massey (and his wife, Sarah Massey) of Winter Garden, Fla.; a sister, Yvonne Barsali of Bayside, N.Y.; a brother, Kenneth Massey of Whippany, N.J.; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife, Jenny Massey, in 2017.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel, 2151 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, Fla. 33948, followed by a funeral service at noon. The Rev. Richard Harris and the Rev. Ron Tipton will officiate, with military honors by a U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Private interment will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Fla.
