Ronald Joseph Altobello, 67, of Punta Gorda, Florida died Monday, November 18th, 2013 at Peace River Regional Medical Center Port Charlotte.

He was born December 28, 1945 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Michael and Stella Altobello and moved to Florida 16 years ago from Hyde Park, Massachusetts. Ronald wad a retired Boilermaker, Local 29.

Survived by his loving family, his wife Ellen A. Altobello of Punta Gorda; a daughter Lori L. Altobello of Harbor Heights, FL; a son, James M Altobello of Dedham, MA; a sister Karen Callahan of Dennis, MA and a brother Michael Altobello of Punta Gorda. He was preceded in death by a brother Stephen Altobello.

A memorial mass will be held Thursday, November 21st at 11am, at San Antonio Catholic Church, which he attended, 24445 Rampart Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33952.

I know this is late... but i never knew Ron had passed. Ron use to date my cousin and i always thought he would be part of my family. RIP my good friend.

I knew Ron from high school and through my sister-in-law. My deepest sympathy to his wife and children and to the Altobello family.

I remember so much about Ronnie, all the good times we had growing up in Hyde Park. We played football, went to school and hung out on the Wood Ave Corner. Ron was our leader.. someone i looked up to. We will always miss him. Growing up in the 60's were a fun time and a historic time. The Wood Ave Boys of : Buzzy, Bobby, Dickie, Dave, Doug, Dillon, Clancy, Arthur, Charlie , George, Murphy, Leo, and Spin. The Girls: Barbara, Marie, Trudy, and Linda. We will always remember and miss Ronnie. He was our hero.
