Sherri Anne Lomax, 80, of Port Charlotte, Florida died November 18, 2023, at her residence in Port Charlotte.
Sherri was born on May 09, 1943, to the late Doris (McManus) & Bernard Toebbe in Louisville, Kentucky, where Sherri and her siblings spent their childhood years working on the family farm.
In 1967 Sherri fell in love and married David Lomax. David and Sherri purchased their first house in Henryville, Indiana (Birthplace of Colonel Sanders and his 11 secret herbs & spices). Sherri and David raised 6 children in Indiana before moving in 1981 to Port Charlotte, Florida. She spent her remaining years playing music with her husband at local venues and Bluegrass festivals all over Florida. Sherri loved to spend every spare minute with her family and friends. She enjoyed singing and playing her fiddle and guitar with her husband David most of all.
Sherri was a successful businesswoman, a talented Singer & Musician, and the cornerstone for the foundation of her family. She is survived by her loving family. Sisters, Susan Bizer and Virginia Toebbe, daughters, Sherry(Randy) Rollo, Barbara(Mark) Holt, Davina Burns; sons, Dan(Shannon) Lomax, David Katzman and Robert “Bud” (Marie) Katzman and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Through the love of music, family and hundreds of friends, this Angel of God will live on forever in our hearts and minds.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 10:00 am at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, Florida 34241
