Shirley E. Cole, 82, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Lexington Manor in Port Charlotte.

Shirley was born August 2, 1928 in Indianapolis, IN and moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1993 before residing in Port Charlotte in 2009. She was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will be missed very much by all who loved and knew her.

She is survived by her 2 sons, David K. (Trish) Cole of North Port, FL and Steven K. (Kathy) Cole of Indianapolis, IN; 3 daughters, Lisa (Steve) Hampton of Ormond Beach, FL, Melanie (Alan) Nebesney of Rosedale, IN and Lynne S. (Bill) Cole of Indianapolis, IN; a sister, Blanche (Robert) Woods of Franklin, IN; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date by the family in Indiana.

Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home & Crematory Port Charlotte Chapel.

I have lots of memories of your Mom (and Dad). Sunday night pizzas and Sara Lee coffee cakes (after all you kids were asleep). Lots of Little League baseball games. Many happy and exciting times. Your Mom came to my condo for dinner and visit during the t ime she was up here for Steve's heart surgery. We had such a good visit.....the laswt time I saw her. Now all the Cole-Cowser kids are getting older, too. Some of you must also be retired, as Mark and Brant will be next month. All of them are still in this area. I have 7 grandchildren and 4 greats. Twelve years after I was widowed from Dick Hamilton, I met a most wonderful man (on Match.com!). We have been married for nearly 6 years. I am blessed!! If possible, I would like to know about a Memorial service or whatever, when you have one. My phone is 317-842-7969. All of my guys would like to see you, also.
