Sidney “Sid” Scott White, 87, of Port Charlotte, Florida and formerly of Plainfield, Illinois went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024.

Beloved husband of Martha Johnson White (1958-2011) and Dorothea Redwood White of Port Charlotte and the most fabulous father to his surviving children—Frank Scott (Tambra) White, Tera (Edward) Mascarenas, Jackie White, Samuel (Bridget) White, and Matthew (Janda) White; a loving grandfather to six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Philip, and Jack. Sid left a legacy of love to everyone he ever met and was a vibrant member of Port Charlotte Global Methodist Church, a seven-time hole-in-one golfer, and outstanding salesman, including the ownership of Happy Homes Furniture in Plainfield. Sid also served in the 101st Airborne Division and Honor Guard of the U.S. Army (1955-1958).

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at the Port Charlotte Global Methodist Church. Rev. Denvil Farley will officiate. Interment with military honors by a U.S. Army Honor Guard will be held later at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida.
