Born April 6th, 1919, she was raised in San Antonio, Texas and moved to Michigan in her early twenties. She remained in Michigan until 2005 when she moved to Punta Gorda and lived with her son Donald (Mary) Teets Sr. She worked at and retired from Industrial Machine Products in Oxford, MI. Some of Sophie’s favorite things to do in Punta Gorda were to feed her cows treats every day, work in her garden, sit by her pond with her dog Mickey and spend time with her loving grandson John Fox.
She is preceded in death by her husband Edmund Harvey Teets and survived by her children, James (Donna) Teets, Marylou (Brad) Hale, Donald (Mary) Teets and Della (Rod) Patrick. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and numerous family members in Texas.
