Stanley Harvey Christian, 82, of North Port, Florida passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at his residence under the hospice care of Tidewell Hospice.
He was born February 24, 1932 in Iaeger, West Virginia and moved to North Port in 2008 from Ocala, FL. Stanley retired from the brewing industry after many years serving as the Quality Assurance Manager. His passions were his family and music. He enjoyed playing music in all different venues from a small stage in local pubs to jam sessions in the parks with his friends. Stanley had an extraordinary musical talent playing many instruments in a variety of genres. He was best known as”Mojo Stan” for singing the blues and his charismatic personality. We will always carry his memory in our hearts.
Survived by his loving wife, Donetta Christian of North Port; three sons, Russell (Carrie) Christian and, Barry (Carrie) Christian both of Rock Hill SC and Bryan (Casey)( Christian of El Jobean, FL. two daughters, Mona (Ed) Boker of St. Petersburg, FL and Shannon Hiser of Tallahassee, FL; a sister, Eunice (Darrell) Sovine of Greenville, TN; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Stanley also has many relatives in West Virginia, Indiana, and Ohio that were dear to him.
Memorial services and inurnment will be held Monday 11:00 AM June 23, 2014 at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte.
