Sue was born May 23, 1946 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, the daughter of the Okey and Leona(Malouse) Bailes. She was a 1964 graduate of Parkersburg High School. Sue was united in marriage July 3, 1965 with John “Jack” E. Slonager. They moved to Florida in 1969 from Columbus, OH. She retired from Charlotte County Utilities where she was a Customer Service Representative for many years and then worked in real estate with Jack for ten years. Sue enjoyed fishing, long musket rifle shooting and spending time with her pets.
Sue is survived by her loving family, her husband of 55 years, Jack Slonager of Port Charlotte; a brother, Bob (Dena) Bailes of Social Circle, GA; a sister, Diana Ludwig of Elizabeth, WV; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
No services are planned. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County, 3519 Drance Street, Port Charlotte, FL 33980 www.awlshelter.org
