Sylvia Kraemer, 92, died on Thurs., August 12, 2010, at her home in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Sylvia was born January 30, 1918, in Seattle, WA. She was married Sept. 25, 1940, in Banff, Alberta, Canada to Charles Edward Dawson. Their son Fred Dawson was born in 1944. Charles Dawson died in 1944 during World War II in Have De Grace, France. Sylvia married Edgar Robert (Bob) Moss Nov. 21, 1947, in Seattle, WA. They had 2 daughters, Jennifer born in 1949 and Sandra born in 1952. Bob graduated from the University of Washington as an electrical engineer who worked for the civil service. In 1955 he accepted a position in Okinawa, Japan for 5 years, then moved to Davenport, IA for 5 years and then on to Bel Air, MD. Bob died in April 1971 at Have De Grace, MD. Sylvia married William (Bill) Kraemer Feb. 4, 1976, in Bel Air, MD and moved to Port Charlotte, FL. Sylvia now had 2 new step-daughters, Karen and Judy. Bill passed away Nov. 23, 1992.
Sylvia was a member of the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. She also enjoyed playing golf, Japanese flower arranging, playing bridge, gardening, traveling, and dancing. Sylvia was preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer in 1987.
She is survived by her son Fred Dawson of Port Charlotte and daughter Sandra Kirk of Wellston, OK, and two step-daughters, Judy Kraemer of Boston, MA and Karen Kraemer of San Mateo, CA; five grandchildren, Sandra Lynne (Phil) Lowe of Edmond, OK, Joshua Johnson of Bel Air, MD, Elizabeth (Mark) Rhome of Selbyville, DE, Brandi (Scott) Hardy of Anacortes, WA and Matthew Kirk of Dallas, TX, and seven great-grand children. Many nieces and nephews also survive, mainly in Washington State.
