I have been truly blessed to have known as wonderful of a woman as Thelma Padgett. Thelma had a huge impact on my childhood as I was growing up. She was the first person to take me to church. She brought me to Sunday school and would enroll me in Vacation Bible School. It amazes me as I look back at all the things that she did for others. She never let her age hold her back. She was constantly on the move and always thinking of others. Thelma had a huge heart, a great smile and was a woman for Christ. Many people over the years were fortunate to have met Thelma. Many of those people probably experienced one of her homecooked meals or fabulous lemon meringue pies. Thelma unselfishingly served her church and was always the one to visit the sick or the elderly. Thelma will always be in my heart. God Bless.
